When local pottery businesses were closing, the couple purchased manufacturing equipment and a production building to help carry the area’s pottery tradition forward. Their family-owned company values practical American manufacturing, skilled pottery work, and pieces intended to stay useful for generations. It later added Buckeye Stoneware and Hartstone Pottery assets, continuing a regional craft through everyday crocks, kitchenware, and decorative pottery.

Automatic Stoneware Pet Watering Dish - 1 Gallon

Provide drinking water with this gravity-style stoneware watering dish. The maker describes a one-gallon reservoir and a lower saucer for cats, small dogs, or chickens. It works without a powered pump, and the two ceramic sections must be assembled correctly for water to feed into the dish. Choose a bowl around the animal’s comfortable access and the amount you serve. A size name describes the bowl range; it does not replace checking the actual vessel dimensions for your pet.

For local manufacturing context, read WHIZ’s report on pottery making in Zanesville.

Features and included items

Stoneware made in Zanesville, Ohio.

Manufacturer-described lead-free, food-safe glaze.

One-gallon gravity watering design.

Reservoir and saucer form the watering assembly.

Product specifications

Product

Automatic Stoneware Pet Watering Dish - 1 Gallon

Included

One ceramic reservoir and matching saucer

Primary material

Stoneware

Catalog dimensions

Approximately 10.75 inches wide x 9.25 inches high with saucer; listed 1-gallon reservoir; ceramic measurements can vary

Country of origin

United States; manufactured in Zanesville, Ohio

Choosing and using this piece

To fill the watering dish, invert the upper reservoir and add water, position the upside-down saucer over it, then carefully turn both pieces upright together as the maker instructs.
