The Partisan Disruptor is a 3-position forced reset trigger for AR-15 that uses the bolt carrier group's rearward travel to mechanically reset the trigger after every shot. Instead of waiting for the shooter to manually release the trigger to achieve reset, the BCG pushes the trigger forward during its rearward stroke — completing the reset before the bolt even returns to battery.
The result: a shooter maintaining rearward finger pressure fires at a cyclic rate limited only by the BCG cycle speed — approximately 1,150 RPM in FRT mode. Every shot still requires a separate, deliberate trigger pull. The Partisan Disruptor FRT is not a machine gun, fires one round per trigger function, and is federally legal under the NFA following Garland v. Cargill and the May 2025 DOJ settlement.
Unlike other drop-in FRT triggers for AR-15, the Partisan Disruptor uses a true cassette architecture — the entire trigger assembly (hammer, trigger, disconnector, springs, reset mechanism) is pre-assembled inside the cassette housing. Drop it into your lower, insert the pins, and it runs. No individual spring management, no fitting, no gunsmithing required.
The Partisan Disruptor AR-15 FRT requires two specific hardware components for reliable operation. Installing the trigger without these is the #1 cause of reset failure:
The extended carrier tail on an M16-profile BCG provides the contact geometry the Disruptor's reset lobe needs during the rearward stroke. A standard AR-15 BCG will cause inconsistent resets. Running an M16 BCG in a semi-auto AR-15 is legal in all 50 states.
A standard carbine buffer cycles too fast for reliable FRT reset timing. H2 (4.6 oz) is the minimum. Our bundle includes an H2 buffer — the sweet spot for most carbine-length Partisan Disruptor builds.

The Partisan Disruptor FRT trigger is federally legal. The Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling in Garland v. Cargill (June 2024) established that devices requiring a separate trigger function per shot are not machine guns under the NFA. A federal district court applied this directly to FRT triggers in July 2024. The Trump DOJ settled all pending FRT litigation in May 2025, formally ending federal enforcement.
State restrictions apply. The Partisan Disruptor is currently restricted in: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, and DC. We verify compliance on every order and do not ship to restricted states.

Yes. An M16-profile BCG is required for reliable reset contact. A standard AR-15 BCG will not work reliably with the Disruptor. Our bundle includes a compatible M16-profile BCG.
No. The Partisan Disruptor and Rare Breed FRT-15 are separate products from competing manufacturers, both covered by independent patents. See our Partisan vs Rare Breed comparison.
The Trigger Company is the manufacturer behind the Partisan Disruptor FRT and the upcoming LAT trigger. ARTakedownTool.com is an authorized The Trigger Company dealer.
