Bicycle® Bridge Playing Cards use a narrow card format that is easier to hold when a game requires a larger hand. Each purchase includes one standard-index Rider Back deck in the selected red or blue color, printed on Bicycle Classic Card Stock with the brand’s Air-Cushion® Finish.

  • One individual deck: Choose either Red or Blue before adding the product to your cart. The purchase does not include both colors.
  • Narrow bridge-size format: Cards measure approximately 2.25 inches wide by 3.5 inches high—about one-quarter inch narrower than poker-size cards.
  • Standard index: Traditional-sized corner numbers, letters and suit symbols rather than enlarged jumbo or large-print indices.
  • Rider Back design: Features Bicycle’s recognizable card-back artwork in the selected red or blue color.
  • Bicycle Classic Card Stock: Traditional playing-card construction for bridge, canasta, rummy, hearts, whist and other card games.
  • Air-Cushion® Finish: The embossed finish is designed to support smooth shuffling, dealing, fanning and card handling.
  • Made in USA: Bicycle identifies its bridge-size cards as manufactured in the United States.

What Is a Bridge-Size Playing Card?

Bridge-size cards are narrower than standard poker-size cards while retaining the same approximate height. The reduced width can make a larger hand of cards easier to hold, organize and fan.

Feature Bridge size—this product Poker size
Approximate width 2.25 inches 2.5 inches
Approximate height 3.5 inches 3.5 inches
Primary advantage Narrower hand and easier handling of several cards Wider traditional format used for poker, magic and general play
Common uses Bridge, canasta, rummy, hearts, whist and other games involving larger hands Poker, blackjack, solitaire, magic, cardistry and general games

For a wider poker-size deck with the same familiar Rider Back artwork, compare the Bicycle 807 Rider Back playing cards.

Why Use Narrow Cards for Bridge and Canasta?

Games such as bridge and canasta can require players to hold and organize many cards at once. The narrower bridge-size format reduces the total width of the hand without reducing the card height.

Bridge-size cards may be a useful choice when you:

  • Regularly hold a large hand of cards
  • Prefer a narrower deck
  • Have smaller hands
  • Play bridge, canasta, rummy, whist or hearts
  • Want traditional Rider Back artwork in a compact format
  • Need decks for a bridge club or recurring card night

The narrower size is a format preference. It does not change the rules of the game or prevent the deck from being used for many other standard card games.

Standard Index vs. Jumbo or Large Print

This deck uses standard indices. The corner numbers, letters and suit symbols are the traditional size rather than an enlarged format.

Index style Best suited for Important distinction
Standard index—this product Traditional card appearance and compact fanning Uses ordinary-sized corner markings
Jumbo or large print Players who prefer larger, more visible corner markings Larger indices do not necessarily mean larger physical cards

For enlarged indices in a wider poker-size format, compare the Bicycle Rider Back Jumbo Index deck.

Red or Blue: Which Deck Should You Choose?

The red and blue variants use the same bridge-size format, standard index, Rider Back artwork, card stock and finish. The principal difference is the card-back and tuck-box color.

  • Red: One bridge-size deck with the red Rider Back design.
  • Blue: One bridge-size deck with the blue Rider Back design.
  • Need both colors? Add one color to the cart, return to this page and add the second color separately.

Using two back colors can make it easier to rotate decks between deals or keep separate decks organized during a club session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does one purchase include both a red and blue deck?

No. Each purchase includes one individual deck in the color selected above. Red and Blue are sold separately.

What size are Bicycle Bridge playing cards?

Bridge-size cards measure approximately 2.25 inches wide by 3.5 inches high. They are approximately one-quarter inch narrower than standard poker-size cards.

Why are bridge cards narrower?

The narrower format makes it easier to hold and organize a larger hand of cards. It can be particularly useful for bridge, canasta and similar games.

Are these standard-index or large-print cards?

These are standard-index cards with traditional-sized corner markings. They are not the separate Bridge Large Print product.

Can these cards be used for games other than bridge?

Yes. They can be used for canasta, rummy, hearts, whist, solitaire and many other traditional card games.

Are these poker-size cards?

No. They are narrower bridge-size cards. Choose a poker-size Rider Back product when the wider 2.5-inch format is preferred.

Are the red and blue decks otherwise the same?

Yes. The primary variant difference is color. Both use the same bridge-size format, standard index, Rider Back design and Air-Cushion finish.

Do these cards use Bicycle’s Air-Cushion finish?

Yes. Bicycle identifies its bridge-size Rider Back products as using the brand’s Air-Cushion® Finish.

Are these 100% plastic cards?

No. These are traditional Bicycle card-stock playing cards, not washable 100% plastic cards.

Are Bicycle Bridge cards made in the USA?

Bicycle identifies its bridge-size playing cards as made in the United States. BuyAmerican.com should retain current packaging and supplier documentation for both color variants.

How many decks do I need for bridge?

One standard deck is used for an ordinary bridge game. Clubs and duplicate events may keep several decks available to rotate colors, prepare boards or replace worn cards.

Can I order these cards in bulk?

For bridge-club, tournament, community-center or event quantities, contact BuyAmerican.com before ordering to confirm current inventory, case quantities, pricing and shipping.
