Blankets, Throws & Bedding Gifts
Find an American-made blanket or throw for a thoughtful gift
Choose a cotton throw for a favorite reading chair, a wool layer for a guest room or a textile gift for a new home. For documented U.S.-made options, start with American Blossom Linens' cotton blankets and wool duvet insert, or The Local Branch's Merino campfire blanket with a carrier. Compare the material, finished dimensions and care routine with how the recipient will use it.
Check each product's origin: The alpaca listings displayed in this collection identify Ecuador or Peru as their manufacturing country. The U.S.-made recommendations below apply to the specific cotton and wool products shown in this guide.

How to choose a blanket or throw gift
Choose the size for the way it will be used
A throw works as an individual layer on a chair or sofa. A bed blanket needs enough width and length for the mattress, the desired overhang and the other bedding. Measure before ordering instead of relying on the size name alone. The herringbone cotton blanket measures 66 x 96 inches in Twin/Twin XL, 90 x 96 inches in Full/Queen and 108 x 96 inches in King/Cal King. Size and color availability vary.
A duvet insert has a different role: it sits inside a compatible cover. Match its actual dimensions to the cover, and check whether the recipient already has one. The wool insert's listed fill weight describes the wool inside, rather than the total finished weight. Keep that distinction in mind when comparing bedding.
Match the material and care routine to the recipient
Choose woven cotton when a machine-washable layer would be useful. A raised cable knit gives the smaller baby blanket a different texture from the herringbone weave. The Merino campfire blanket has a more involved cleaning routine, making it a better match for someone comfortable with hand washing or professional cleaning. Consider the recipient's laundry space before selecting a large wool-filled insert.
For a wedding or housewarming, ask about bed size and color preferences. For a cabin or travel gift, consider whether the included blanket carrier will be useful. For a new-family gift, include the maker's care and use information with the baby blanket.
Build a gift around a quiet evening at home
Pair a throw with a separate selection from cocoa and hot chocolate, or compare candles for another home gift. Browse decorative accessories to coordinate a room, fall favorites for seasonal ideas or holiday decor for a festive setting. Each purchase has its own contents and fulfillment details.
Compare other gifts under $250 or gifts under $100 if you are working within a budget. The selected blanket size can change the price. Include any delivery charges and tax when checking the total.

Blanket and throw questions
How do I check whether a blanket is made in the USA?
Read the product's manufacturing country and material details. A seller's U.S. address or an American-style pattern does not establish where a blanket was made. The cotton and wool choices highlighted above have specific domestic production information. For background on origin wording, see the FTC's Made in USA guidance.
Can I machine wash these blankets?
Care varies by product. American Blossom Linens specifies a warm, delicate wash for its cotton blankets, followed by warm tumble drying and prompt removal. The Local Branch specifies spot cleaning, hand washing or dry cleaning for its Merino blanket, with flat drying. The wool duvet insert should not be machine washed. Follow the directions on the exact item received.
Is the baby blanket suitable for a crib?
Keep loose blankets out of an infant's sleep space. Choose the cable knit blanket for supervised awake use and follow the maker's age and use guidance. The CPSC's infant sleep guidance recommends a firm, flat sleep surface with only a properly fitted sheet.
Do the blankets come as gift sets?
Check the contents of the individual listing. The campfire blanket includes its carrier; the cotton blankets are individual blankets, and the wool duvet insert does not include a cover. Adding another item to your cart creates separate purchases rather than a prepacked gift set.
What should I check before sending a gift?
Confirm the size, color, delivery address and selected option. Review the product-specific terms alongside the shipping policy and returns policy. Vendors fulfill orders directly, so items from different makers can arrive separately. For help with an order or product question, contact BuyAmerican with the listing or order details.
