Face Care

Read Claims and Country of Origin

Cosmetic descriptions should not be interpreted as evidence that a product treats acne, eczema or another medical condition. For guidance, see the FDA cosmetic versus drug explanation and the American Academy of Dermatology skin-product testing guide. Review each item’s origin statement; the FTC Made in USA guide distinguishes unqualified from qualified claims.

Build a Simple Face-Care Routine

Most routines begin with a facial cleanser and moisturizer. Depending on individual needs, shoppers may add a serum, facial oil or occasional exfoliating product. Look for the intended skin type and use area on each listing; a body product should not automatically be used around the eyes or on the face.

For body-focused products, explore Lotions & Body Butters; for cleansing bars, browse Bar Soap and check which are specifically formulated for facial use.

Compare Facial Cleansers, Serums and Moisturizers

• Cleanser: Choose a rinse-off product recommended for facial use.
• Serum: Check whether the formula is oil-based or water-based and follow its intended application instructions.
• Moisturizer: Compare lotion, cream and balm textures for your preferred finish.
• Exfoliant: Confirm product frequency and whether it uses physical or chemical exfoliating ingredients.
• Ingredient review: Check fragrance, essential oils, botanical extracts and allergens.
