Big Poppa Smokers was founded by Sterling “Big Poppa” Ball and is based in Coachella, California. The company marks its founding as 2010 on its packaging and anniversary materials. It grew from Ball’s interest in backyard cooking and spending time with his sons. Its approach centers on sharing food, helping home cooks build confidence and bringing competition barbecue experience to everyday meals.
Competition Stash is an all-purpose BBQ rub for beef, pork and poultry. Sugar, sea salt, garlic, onion and spices form its sweet-savory base, with citric acid and lemon oil providing a citrus note. The 12 oz shaker suits cooks who want one seasoning to test across several proteins rather than a blend restricted to brisket or steak.
The maker describes a mild chili kick alongside the savory and citrus elements. That gives it a different balance from the sweeter Sweet Money or the beef-stock-based Competition Brisket & Steak. It can serve as the main dry seasoning on ribs, chicken or pork chops, with sauce and finishing dust treated as optional additions to the recipe.
Photographed package ingredients: Sugar, sea salt, dehydrated garlic and onion, spices including chili pepper, paprika, citric acid, yeast extract, celery seed, extractives of paprika (color), lemon oil, natural flavor and not more than 2% tricalcium phosphate added to prevent caking.
No major-allergen “Contains” statement appears on the photographed label. This is not an allergen-free or cross-contact-free certification; check the delivered package for your dietary needs.
