The Blue Resin Greek Xiphos Dagger widens toward the tip, not the guard. Most blades run their widest point near the handle. A leaf profile does the reverse. That shift pushes mass forward and adds force to any cut. Greek smiths worked this out well over two thousand years ago.

Both edges carry a grind from collar to point. A central ridge runs the length and holds the blade stiff. Steel falls away on both sides from that ridge. The section stays strong even as the width narrows.

This blue resin dagger for sale arrives with a brown leather sheath. Blue and white swirl through the handle in a marbled pour.

Greek Xiphos Dagger at Divine Knives with a leaf-shaped, double-edged blade, a polished steel collar, and blue and white marbled resin on a hidden tang.

The History Behind This Greek Short Sword Design

The xiphos served Greek soldiers through the Classical period. Bronze examples appear first, with iron versions following later. Smiths favored the leaf outline for its forward weight and fine point. Museums across Greece and Italy hold surviving blades today. Divine Knives shapes that outline at dagger length in polished steel.

Blue Resin Greek Xiphos Dagger Performance

Pick it up and the weight sits forward of your hand. That balance comes straight from the leaf outline. Collectors notice it immediately against a straight taper. The blade wants to move on a swing rather than a thrust.

Both edges are ground and sharpened, not left blunt. The central ridge catches a hard line of light down the middle. Polished steel throws that line cleanly across a room. Fingerprints show on a mirror finish, so handle it dry. Wipe the blade down after anyone picks it up.

Blue Resin Xiphos Dagger Construction

Resin is poured, not carved. Pigment gets stirred through the liquid before it sets. Blue and white fold into each other and freeze mid-swirl. No two handles come out of that process alike.

Resin also ignores everything wood struggles with. Humidity, temperature swings, and damp storage change nothing. A polished steel collar closes the gap at the ricasso. A hidden tang runs the full handle length underneath. Clean the resin with a damp cloth and nothing stronger.

Best Uses for the Bluestone Xiphos

A case or a stand suits this one best. Ancient history collectors are the obvious buyer here. Collectors buy Greek Xiphos dagger pieces for the leaf profile alone. Reenactors and classics enthusiasts make up the rest. It gifts well to anyone drawn to the ancient world.

Order the Bluestone Dagger today. A two-thousand-year-old outline rarely meets a modern poured handle.

FAQ’s

What is a xiphos?

A xiphos is an ancient Greek short sword with a leaf-shaped blade. This piece uses the same outline at dagger length.

Why does the blade widen toward the tip?

The leaf shape moves mass forward of your hand. That forward weight adds force to a swinging cut.

Is this blade Damascus steel?

No. The blade is plain steel with a mirror polish. There are no forged layers in it.

What is the handle made from?

The handle is cast resin with blue and white pigment swirled through. Each pour sets differently, so no two match.

How is this different from the Quillspine dagger?

The Quillspine uses forged feather Damascus with a carved burl handle. This one uses polished plain steel with poured resin.
