The Damascus Gold Cross Medieval Sword puts its money in the hilt. Medieval blades often traveled as trade blanks across Europe. A few centers made them, and everyone else bought them. The hilt was made locally and showed who owned it. That is the split you see here. Nothing about the blade is plain, but the hilt carries the eye.

Gold fittings cover the guard, the grip, and the pommel. A cross sits at the center of the pommel disc. Layered steel fills the blade beneath all of it.

This gold cross sword for sale runs 38 inches overall. A fuller cuts a groove down the blade center. Damascus Medieval Sword at Divine Knives with gold fittings across the guard, grip, and pommel, a cross set in the pommel disc, and a fullered Damascus blade.

The History Behind This Damascus Steel Knightly Sword

The cruciform hilt was held across Europe for roughly five centuries. A straight crossguard and a disc pommel defined the whole shape. Smiths varied the details but never the underlying outline itself. That consistency makes medieval swords easy to date by hilt alone. Divine Knives works that same arrangement in gold.

Damascus Gold Cross Medieval Sword Performance

The fuller does real engineering work on a blade this long. Steel comes out of the center and weight drops. Stiffness holds because the edges keep their thickness. Thirty inches would feel dead without it. The groove runs most of the length.

Balance sits a few inches forward of the guard. A heavy pommel pulls back against the blade length. Gold fittings mark easily, so handle them dry. Layer bands show up strongest from the side. Oil the blade before it goes on a wall.

Gold Cross Sword Design and Construction

Gold covers three separate fittings on this hilt. The crossguard drops slightly at both quillon ends. Round medallions close each of those tips. Ornamental work runs the grip between guard and pommel. Pale accents break the gold at intervals.

A disc pommel caps the whole assembly. A cross motif sits raised at its center. The blade runs Damascus with a fuller down the middle. The blade is sharpened on both sides. Keep gold away from polish and abrasives.

Best Uses for the Goldhilt Sword

Thirty-eight inches needs a wall, not a shelf. Two mounting points carry that length properly. Anyone building a medieval display will buy Damascus knightly sword pieces. Reenactment groups take them for kit and ceremony. The hilt rewards a close look on any mount. Detail that fine gets lost at a distance.
