The kit uses a polished 16-gauge aluminum flagpole, a powder-coated hitch-mount holder, stainless-steel clip hardware and a sewn nylon U.S. flag. The manufacturer lists a two-part locking arrangement at the holder.

Before each outing inspect hitch engagement, retaining pins, thumb screw, pole, swivels and clips. Remove or lower the setup when the flag can obstruct vehicle equipment, create a road hazard or experience excessive wind. Dry and store the nylon flag according to its care label. Do not use the mount with an incompatible receiver.
