Regional BBQ Sauce Sampler, 6-Bottle Variety Pack
Details
True Made Foods was founded by Abe Kamarck in 2015 and is based in Alexandria, Virginia, and Raleigh, North Carolina. Father-and-son pitmasters Ed and Ryan Mitchell joined as co-founders in 2018 to develop the barbecue range. The company uses fruits and vegetables in its condiments to reduce reliance on added sugar. Its Pitmaster recipes bring that approach together with the Mitchell family's barbecue traditions and an interest in food shared around the family table.
Explore six distinct barbecue styles with this regional BBQ sauce sampler. The six-bottle variety pack includes one bottle each of Original Kansas City, Memphis Sweet, Texas Bold, East Carolina Mop, Carolina Red and Carolina Gold. It puts tomato, vinegar and mustard-based options on the same table, making it easy to compare sauces with ribs, pulled pork, chicken or brisket.
Features
Six sauces, six ways to finish barbecue
- Original Kansas City: a thick, sweet and smoky tomato-based sauce made with vegetables and brown sugar.
- Memphis Sweet: fruit, tomato and tamarind with mustard, cayenne and black pepper; a useful match for ribs and chicken.
- Texas Bold: vinegar, beef broth, ancho chili and cumin create a savory, spicy option for brisket and burnt ends.
- East Carolina Mop: a vinegar-forward sauce with red pepper and spices for basting or finishing chopped pork.
- Carolina Red: tomato and apple cider vinegar with fruit and vegetables for pulled pork and other grilled dishes.
- Carolina Gold: mustard, apple cider vinegar and fruit deliver a tangy alternative for pork, chicken and sandwiches.
This assortment is not entirely free of added sugar: Original Kansas City contains brown sugar. The other five sauces are described by the supplier as having no added sugar, which does not mean they contain no naturally occurring sugars. Texas Bold contains beef broth, so the complete pack is not vegan. The supplier identifies the sauces as gluten-free, but also states that its BBQ sauces are made in a facility where cross-contact can occur.
For help reading the distinction, see the FDA guide to added sugars on the Nutrition Facts label.

Care
Serving and bottle care
Use the individual sauces according to the dish rather than treating them as interchangeable. Original suits a sweet finishing glaze; Texas Bold brings a savory accent to beef; the vinegar-led Mop provides a different texture and flavor for chopped pork. For a tasting meal, place small portions in separate dishes and compare the same food with several sauces before adding more.
Follow the storage and handling directions printed on each bottle, including its instructions after opening. Check the date and seal before serving, and use the product-specific label when comparing serving sizes. Individual recipes have different nutrition profiles, so one bottle’s panel should not be applied to the entire assortment.
