Fantozzi Honey Company was founded by Thomas Fantozzi in 2017 after a beekeeping class at Cal Poly inspired his first two hives. His upbringing on a family farm in Patterson, California, shaped a business centered on bees and local agriculture. The family-run apiary emphasizes healthy colonies, harvesting only surplus honey, and handling its products in small batches.
The maker harvests this sage honey from beehives in California’s Central Valley and Central Coast. Nectar gathered predominantly from sage flowers gives the honey its varietal identity. Fantozzi describes it as lighter in color and taste than its wildflower honey. Offered in an 11 oz or 21 oz jar, it suits both small spoonfuls at the table and measured quantities for recipes.
Raw sage honey. The maker identifies the product as raw. The floral variety describes the nectar source of the honey, rather than an added flavor ingredient.
Packaging format: jar. Check the current package for its complete label and any additional handling information.
Keep the jar tightly closed at room temperature and use a clean, dry spoon or dipper. Avoid adding crumbs or water to the container. Honey can develop natural crystals over time; this texture change alone does not indicate spoilage. Follow any further package instructions for storing or handling the honey.
Do not give honey or honey-containing products to children younger than 12 months. Read the CDC guidance on honey and infant botulism for more information.
