Moksha Chocolate was founded in 2019 by Jen and Michael Caines in Boulder, Colorado. The company grew from a cacao project in Peru into a small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate business. Its approach centers on direct-trade relationships, transparent sourcing, and making distinctive chocolate while supporting the farmers behind the cacao.
This organic Criollo cacao powder brings single-origin cacao from San Martín, Peru, to your cup or kitchen. The recipe is 100% cacao: unsweetened, non-alkalized, and made without fillers or added flavorings. Its powder format makes it easy to measure into a warm drink, smoothie, or chocolate recipe without first shaving a solid block.
The cacao variety and origin are part of this product’s identity, rather than an added flavor. Choose it when you want the taste of cacao itself and the freedom to decide how much sweetness, milk, or spice to add. Unlike a sweetened hot chocolate mix, the pouch does not include sugar or powdered milk. Any sweetness in your finished drink comes from the ingredients you choose to combine with it.
Powder is a convenient choice for measuring into batters and blending into drinks. If you prefer a whole-bean cacao format that retains its natural cocoa butter, explore our organic ceremonial cacao paste. Browse more coffee, tea, and cacao drinks to find another cup for your pantry.
For a warm cacao drink, the maker recommends warming 6–8 fl oz of water or plant-based milk without boiling it, then whisking or blending in 1–2 tablespoons of powder until smooth. Add cinnamon, cayenne, or your preferred sweetener to taste. The powder can also be mixed into smoothies, desserts, and baked goods. The liquid, spices, and sweetener are serving suggestions and are not included in this pouch.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Protect this cacao or chocolate from warm windows, hot vehicles, and other sources of heat. Keep the package label available for the product’s own directions and date information.
The maker ships eligible domestic orders primarily with FedEx. Shipping availability, services, and prices depend on the destination and are confirmed at checkout; the maker does not serve every U.S. state. Early-week orders typically dispatch within 1–2 business days, while later-week orders may be held until Monday to reduce time in a carrier facility over the weekend. Published transit estimates are typically 1–3 business days after dispatch and are not guaranteed delivery dates.
For warm-weather shipments, the maker uses insulated packaging and ice packs and recommends FedEx 2-Day service, especially outside Colorado, when that option is available. Seasonal shipping rates can be higher. Standard delivery in extreme heat does not carry an unmelted-arrival guarantee. Choose an address where someone can receive the package promptly; hot porches, outdoor lockers, and delayed collection increase melt risk. The supplier excludes responsibility for melting caused by incorrect addresses, missed delivery attempts, carrier delays, extreme local temperatures, or packages left outside after delivery.
This is perishable food. The maker does not accept returns once an order has shipped, been picked up, been opened, or left its care. If this product arrives damaged, incorrect, missing, or melted, contact BuyAmerican promptly at hello@buyamerican.com with your order number, a description, and clear photos of the packaging and product. Issues are reviewed individually; a replacement, credit, refund, or another resolution is discretionary rather than automatic. Request order changes or cancellation immediately, because changes are not guaranteed after packing or handoff to the carrier.
