Moksha Chocolate was founded in 2019 by Jen and Michael Caines in Boulder, Colorado. The company grew from a cacao project in Peru into a small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate business. Its approach centers on direct-trade relationships, transparent sourcing, and making distinctive chocolate while supporting the farmers behind the cacao.
Forest Blend™ combines organic whole-bean cacao with six mushroom varieties: Reishi, Chaga, Turkey Tail, Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Maitake. The maker stone-grinds the mixture continuously for five days so the mushroom ingredients become integrated into the cacao paste. This is an unsweetened cacao ingredient for drinks and recipes, with no sugar, fillers, or added flavorings.
The blend has the dense texture of cacao paste, balanced cacao bitterness, and an earthy character from its mushroom ingredients. Use it when you want to explore a mushroom cacao recipe while choosing your own liquid, sweetness, and spices. This pouch contains the blended paste rather than a ready-to-drink beverage or a case of sweetened chocolate squares. All six varieties are included together; individual mushroom amounts are not listed.
For an unblended cacao option, compare our single-ingredient organic cacao paste. Browse the coffee, tea, and cacao collection if you are choosing ingredients for your next warm drink. Each format has its own ingredient list, so check the recipe before choosing.
Shave, melt, or blend the paste into warm water or plant-based milk to prepare a cacao drink. Whisk or blend thoroughly for a smooth mixture, then add any preferred sweetener or spices separately. The maker also identifies chocolate-forward recipes as a use for this paste. Follow the serving directions on your package for portioning; this listing does not assign an amount to each individual mushroom. Your chosen liquid, garnish, and sweetener are not included.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Protect this cacao or chocolate from warm windows, hot vehicles, and other sources of heat. Keep the package label available for the product’s own directions and date information.
The maker ships eligible domestic orders primarily with FedEx. Shipping availability, services, and prices depend on the destination and are confirmed at checkout; the maker does not serve every U.S. state. Early-week orders typically dispatch within 1–2 business days, while later-week orders may be held until Monday to reduce time in a carrier facility over the weekend. Published transit estimates are typically 1–3 business days after dispatch and are not guaranteed delivery dates.
For warm-weather shipments, the maker uses insulated packaging and ice packs and recommends FedEx 2-Day service, especially outside Colorado, when that option is available. Seasonal shipping rates can be higher. Standard delivery in extreme heat does not carry an unmelted-arrival guarantee. Choose an address where someone can receive the package promptly; hot porches, outdoor lockers, and delayed collection increase melt risk. The supplier excludes responsibility for melting caused by incorrect addresses, missed delivery attempts, carrier delays, extreme local temperatures, or packages left outside after delivery.
This is perishable food. The maker does not accept returns once an order has shipped, been picked up, been opened, or left its care. If this product arrives damaged, incorrect, missing, or melted, contact BuyAmerican promptly at hello@buyamerican.com with your order number, a description, and clear photos of the packaging and product. Issues are reviewed individually; a replacement, credit, refund, or another resolution is discretionary rather than automatic. Request order changes or cancellation immediately, because changes are not guaranteed after packing or handoff to the carrier.
