Moksha Chocolate was founded in 2019 by Jen and Michael Caines in Boulder, Colorado. The company grew from a cacao project in Peru into a small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate business. Its approach centers on direct-trade relationships, transparent sourcing, and making distinctive chocolate while supporting the farmers behind the cacao.
Forest Reserve™ brings together 70% single-origin dark chocolate and three mushroom varieties: Turkey Tail, Maitake, and Chaga. The cacao is lightly sweetened with coconut sugar and stone-ground in small batches. Each 15 g square contains 500 mg of the combined mushroom blend, as stated by the maker. A case contains 12 individually packaged squares for portioned chocolate enjoyment.
Choose this recipe for the middle cacao percentage in the maker’s mushroom chocolate range. It offers a dark chocolate format with three mushrooms blended together, rather than one mushroom variety or a six-mushroom drinking paste. The 500 mg amount applies to the total blend, not to 500 mg of each mushroom. The maker does not list separate quantities for Turkey Tail, Maitake, and Chaga, so no individual amounts are assigned here.
If you would like to compare this three-mushroom recipe with the other blends, choose the mushroom chocolate tasting sampler. For a wider selection of recipes and cacao styles, browse our artisan chocolate collection. Check each item’s ingredient statement when comparing recipes.
The squares are ready to eat straight from their individual packages. Enjoy a square on its own or arrange a tasting with the other mushroom chocolate recipes to compare their cacao percentages and textures. Keep unused squares wrapped until you are ready to serve them. The package format makes the case easy to divide between tasting occasions without opening all 12 portions at once. No brewing or blending is needed for these chocolate squares.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Protect this cacao or chocolate from warm windows, hot vehicles, and other sources of heat. Keep the package label available for the product’s own directions and date information.
The maker ships eligible domestic orders primarily with FedEx. Shipping availability, services, and prices depend on the destination and are confirmed at checkout; the maker does not serve every U.S. state. Early-week orders typically dispatch within 1–2 business days, while later-week orders may be held until Monday to reduce time in a carrier facility over the weekend. Published transit estimates are typically 1–3 business days after dispatch and are not guaranteed delivery dates.
For warm-weather shipments, the maker uses insulated packaging and ice packs and recommends FedEx 2-Day service, especially outside Colorado, when that option is available. Seasonal shipping rates can be higher. Standard delivery in extreme heat does not carry an unmelted-arrival guarantee. Choose an address where someone can receive the package promptly; hot porches, outdoor lockers, and delayed collection increase melt risk. The supplier excludes responsibility for melting caused by incorrect addresses, missed delivery attempts, carrier delays, extreme local temperatures, or packages left outside after delivery.
This is perishable food. The maker does not accept returns once an order has shipped, been picked up, been opened, or left its care. If this product arrives damaged, incorrect, missing, or melted, contact BuyAmerican promptly at hello@buyamerican.com with your order number, a description, and clear photos of the packaging and product. Issues are reviewed individually; a replacement, credit, refund, or another resolution is discretionary rather than automatic. Request order changes or cancellation immediately, because changes are not guaranteed after packing or handoff to the carrier.
